Al-Fatihah Learning Academy (ALA) is an educational institute for women that is dedicated to the study of the Quran and sacred sciences. A place where honouring our sacred tradition of learning heart-to-heart is upheld by female scholars who have committed years of study with classical scholars and received sacred licensure (ijazah).
Established in 2017 in Toronto, Canada, ALA is founded by four sisters who have been blessed with years of study in Islamic seminaries along with formal University degrees.
ALA began with recognizing the unique challenges Muslim women face in accessing authentic and enriching learning opportunities alongside the need for female scholars to teach and serve locally.
The intention is to be among the blessed category of “The best among you are those that learn and teach the Quran,” as said by our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
