The Foundational Tajweed Program will provide students with the essential theoretical knowledge and recitation practice to recite the Quran with basic fluency, clarity of tajweed rules and its application. It is designed to meet the needs of students at their level of fluency and articulation.

Course Details

The Foundational Tajweed Program will provide students with the essential knowledge base and recitation practice to recite the Quran with basic fluency, clarity of tajweed rules and its application.

The program is taught in-person, with a qualified female instructor. Each course will include text based instruction, Qur’anic recitation, and Quran related discussions.
Through this course, students will strengthen their relationship with the Quran, memorize short surahs with tajweed and build a community amongst women connected to the Quran.
Students aspiring to further their studies of Tajweed and the Qira’at with AlFatihah Learning who do not meet the admission requisites, may qualify for entry through successful completion of this program, God willing. All course instruction and resources are in English.


Learning Outcomes

 

Upon successful completion of the program students will be able to:

  • Open a Mushaf and recite aloud
  • Know the foundational tajweed rules required for correct recitation
  • Intuitively apply tajweed rules while reciting
  • Be comfortable in projecting voice, and sharing one’s recitation
  • Study 1-2 texts of Tajweed
  • Review 2-3 texts on sciences of the Qur’an.
  • Demonstrate appreciation and love for the process and people through whom this science has been transmitted
  • Demonstrate aspiration to grow with their knowledge through continued personal learning
