The Certificate in Qira’ah Mufradah of Imam Nafi’ ra will provide students the theoretical knowledge and recitation practice to recite in one of the variant ways in which Prophet Muhammed (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the Quran. The program is taught in-person, with a qualified female instructor through whom students will connect their learning to Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings upon him). Each course will include text based instruction and a complete Qur’an recitation. The preservation of the Qira’aat is fardh kifaayah. This certificate intends to take on the noble task of preserving different recitals of the Quran and be recipients of the hadith “the noblest of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it to others.” Through this certificate students are able to appreciate the sacred tradition of Qur’anic transmission, traditional modes of learning, and depth of the sciences of Quranic recitation. Students will strengthen their relationship with the Quran, build a community amongst women connected to the Quran, and God willing, be inspired to be future teachers in their communities. Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will

• Learn the qira’ah theory of Imam Nafi’ through Imam Qaloon and Imam warsh. (May Allah have mercy on them all)
• Recite the entire Quran in one variant of the ten readings
• Become recitors of the two most common recitations of the Quran.
• Aspire to further study the Qira’at, insha-Allah.
