This program is a guided reading through the translation of the entire Quran over two years.  It is an open course, welcoming sisters to connect and reflect on the meaning of the Quran with a weekly hybrid class.  Listen to weekly Quranic recitations from peers, participate in translation reading and join the conversation with personal and group reflections. Come join us in this light, engaging and spiritually uplifting course.  This program is open to registration for both in-person and online attendance.

Instructors

Shaykha Dr Saleha Gangat

Shaykha Dr Saleha Gangat is an Alimah, trained in the Islamic sciences of Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, and Tahfeez-memorization of the Quran. She was born and raised in Montreal, and pursued her Alimiyyah studies in Gujarat, India. Ustadha has been teaching in the GTA for nearly two decades and has maintained connection with the youth while continuing her academics and family obligations. Ustadha has a BSc Hons from the University of Toronto in psychology and neuroscience and a medical degree from McGill University. She is a practicing physician, a mother of four and is also the co-founder of Al-Fatihah Learning Academy.

 

Ustadha Zakiyah Gangat
Ustadha Zakiyah Gangat is an educator and co-founder of Al-Fatihah Learning Academy, committed to nurturing female scholarship and empowering women through sacred knowledge. She has been teaching in the GTA for over two decades, welcoming learners of all ages. Zakiyah studied the Islamic sciences at a traditional seminary in Gujarat, India, where she earned her Shahadah al-Alimiyyah. She also holds a BSc in Psychology, Health Studies, and Religions (Hons) from the University of Toronto, a Diploma in Contextual Islamic Studies and Leadership from Cambridge Muslim College, and a Diploma in Not-for-Profit Management from Western University.

Listen to weekly Quranic recitations from peers, participate in  reading the translation and join the conversation with personal and group reflections. Come join us in this light, engaging and spiritually uplifting course.
